another cold week

This week we had more snow, wind and negative temperatures. This time it was blowing snow. Roger and Emilia both had two more days off from school. We had big drifts on the side of our house.

The deck was protected from the north wind, so the snow fell nicely on it.

We made snow ice cream. It was my first time to try it. We couldn't believe how much it tasted like the real thing!

Snow Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients
1 gallon snow
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk

Directions
1.When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once.

Roger and I drank lots of coffee.

Avery has been sick this week with a fever and cough. Hopefully this is the last rough day for her.

Emilia and Lydia played together well, even without their other playmate.

Wow! That's alot of snow! Your snow ice cream sounds yummy! Maybe I will get to try some if it ever snows when I'm in KS! :)

Bummer that Avery hasn't been well, hope she is feeling better soon!

I like the picture of Emilia and Lydia playing....looks like a comfy bed they made.
