and we wonder why we are exhausted

Some evenings our three little darlings will be snuggled up and soundly asleep in bed by 8:30. There are, however, nights that aren't so easy. Last night was one of them. Here is how it went down.

7:45 p.m. Lydia goes to bed
8:00 Roger reads to Avery and Emilia
8:30 Big girls tucked into bed
8:45 Tuck big girls into bed again
9:20 Avery still awake, sits with daddy on couch
9:25 Avery lays in bed with mommy
9:35 Daddy takes Avery to living room because she is way too squirmy for mommy
11:00 Daddy finally gets Avery to sleep (after some playtime and a snack)
11:30 Lydia wakes up and cries, mommy and daddy take turns trying to get her to go back to sleep
12:35 a.m. Lydia back to sleep after giving her teething tablets
12:45 Hear footsteps on the wood floor, Emilia climbs into bed with us
12:47 Emilia soundly asleep and faintly snoring
1:20 Daddy moves Emilia to her bed
1:30 Daddy asleep
sometime after 2:00 mommy asleep

This morning the big question for me was...Do I get a Starbucks or diet coke at Target to get me through the rest of the day? I went with the diet coke because I could get a refill on the way out the door!

Just one look at my little girls, though, reminds me that they are totally worth the sleepless nights and demanding days!
