wrapping up october

the girls and i enjoyed the patch this year with grandma susie. daddy was at a k-state football game. emilia really loved the zip cord and giant slide. she went on both of them over and over again. avery's favorite thing was feeding the goats. she also liked riding the train. lydia got really excited at the petting zoo area. i decided to take her out of the stoller and just let her stand at the goat fence. we ended up with some nice, free pumpkins. guess we chose the right day to go...a free pumpkin with each paid admission. can't beat that!

i am the room mom for emilia's class this year. this was my first party to plan. it is definitely different being on the parent side of party planning instead of the teacher side, but i am enjoying it. roger took the day off, so he thought it would be fun to go and take the little girls along. avery enjoyed making the crafts and eating the goodies with emilia. lydi had fun exploring the classroom.

we had a fun time celebrating halloween with grandma, grandad, cody and megan. after munching on a few halloween-themed goodies, the girls headed out to trick-or-treat. grandma and grandad stayed at our house to hand out candy. emilia really enjoyed trick-or-treating this year. she even met up with a kindergarten classmate to finish off her night. avery would not go close to any house that had "spooky things" on the porch. those kinds of things really bothered her all halloween season this year. she enjoyed her candy once she got home, though. lydia had the whole trick-or-treat thing figured out by about the 3rd or 4th house. we didn't take her up to every house. she held her pumpkin treat bag the entire time. she even held out her bag when she was waiting on the street while her sisters went up to a house. once home, she took candy out of her bag and carried it to grandad...who of course opened each piece she brought him. spoiled? oh, and i'm pretty sure we had the cutest little kitty, tinkerbell and pumpkin in the neighborhood.

The girls costumes are so cute! Wish we could have trick-or-treated together like last year.

While I'm busy commenting...how about one more for this post. :) Your banner looks great! The new pictures of the girls on the sidebar in their orange shirts are really good!...I see you've been practicing your photography skills....and editing too? :)

I wouldn't have to type so many comments if we didn't live in different time zones and could chat more....it is almost midnight your time!
